The theme of Week Five is photography, with visits July 28 by Steve Sasson, inventor of the digital camera, at 10:45 a.m. and Sports Illustrated photographer James Colton at 2 p.m. Speakers with the goal of "Excellence in Public Education" fill out the first week of August, which also has "American Idols" Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard performing together Aug. 6. And for something completely different, Week Nine includes an 8:15 p.m. performance by jazz banjo player Cynthia Sayer, whose unparalleled credentials include being a regular in Woody Allen's jazz band and being the official banjo player of the New York Yankees. Also on the schedule: Performances by the Chautauqua Opera Company of "Norma," "Cavalleria rusticana" and "I Pagliacci;" the Chautauqua Theater Company with "You Can't Take It With You," "Amadeus" and "Macbeth;" and three performances each week by the Chautauqua Symphony.
